Description
Sargent Cancer Care for Children (Channel Islands)was started in September 1974 in order to help children who suffer from all forms of cancer. Funds raised locally are spent entirely for the benefit of local children and are used to give help for example with heating expenses and warm clothing, to assist with airfares for families to travel to the UK to visit children undergoing treatment, accommodation and subsistence for families whilst in the UK, helping with nursing relief when a child is at home, medical expenses, etc. Help may also include the occasional holiday, toys for the child and other extras which may bring a little happiness to a child suffering from cancer.

Children and their families who may qualify for assistance are referred to us either by one of the paediatricians at the Jersey General Hospital or by Sargent Social Workers operating in the major UK hospitals, or we can be approached direct by telephoning the above number. We try to give appropriate help wherever possible to assist children and their families who are undergoing financial and emotional stress.
