Ecycle: What is it and how does it work?

Your chance to clear out your clutter, help a neighbour and save the planet... all at the same time!

In Jersey we produce around 100,000 tonnes of waste per year. Over a third of this comes from households. Our new ecycle feature aims to help us all recycle items that are not worth selling but maybe someone out there might have a use for them. This can be anything from jam jars to crystal glasses, plants to greenhouses!
What is ecycle?
Quite simply it is a message board where you can leave a list of your unwanted items rather than deciding to add to our landfill crisis by taking them to the skip/dump. Your list appears in the JEP's new ecycle classification and here at thisisjersey.com where it will stay until you let us know that you have recycled your item/s or decide to discard them. Search for an item.

How do I use ecycle?
ecyclers can fill in the coupon in the JEP or fill in the form online to a maximum of 20 words (including your contact details). You can gift away almost anything as long as it is given freely and the advert is legal, decent and true. Your message, once accepted, appears in the next available ecycle feature in the JEP and on-line here at This is Jersey. If the JEP finds the content unsuitable, it will not appear.

How do I cancel?
To remove your advert from the website, and any possible future printed listings, either email us at ecycle@jerseyeveningpost.com or phone us on 611888 with booking details, a brief description of the item and the contact details used on the advert.
