Jersey Rugby Club 1sts failed to finish their brilliant promotion season on a high this weekend, with a high-energy Guernsey team retaining the Siam Cup with a 22-13 win at Foote's Lane, despite tries from Graham Bell and Sam Tuia. But the Jersey Academy kept the Island flag flying high by winning all but one of their age group matches against Guernsey. There was a huge crowd of fans to watch the colourful occasion, which also had the home side triumphing in the veterans' Nash Cup encounter. Jersey seniors get at chance for some revenge on Sunday when the 2nds take on Guernsey in the Fallaize Cup.
The JEP will be publishing an eight-page supplement on Tuesday, 7 May which will have extensive coverage of the Siam Cup and Muratti Vase contests over one of the busiest weekend's on the sporting calendar.
